Boston Extends Line of GTuned™ Sub Enclosures
CES 2007, Las Vegas, Nevada—Boston Acoustics, Inc., a premier manufacturer of high performance audio solutions for use in mobile aftermarket and OEM automotive systems, home music audio and video systems, and custom built-in audio systems, introduces two new additions to its G-Tuned™ lineup of prefabricated cabinets for automotive subwoofers at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show. The SPG555SS and SG555PS enclosures are specifically designed for its reference subwoofer, the high-output reference SPG555, in both sealed and ported models.

The new G-Tuned SPG555SS (sealed) and SPG555PS (ported) boxes share extremely rugged, nonresonant construction of 3/4-inch MDF throughout, with double-walled front baffles for added rigidity, CNC machining, and dadoed ends, ensuring that the cabinet will not flex, leak, or break. Both boxes countersink the sub in the top baffle, minimizing the space needed in the front of the enclosure. The sealed SPG555SS is built to Boston’s 1-cubic-foot spec for maximum sound-quality/power-handling performance from the SPG555, delivering superbly compact dimensions—just 16-1/8 inches on its longest side. The SPG555PS ported enclosure selects tuning that balances high output with extension, for astonishing single-driver overall impact, yet its 30-1/8-inch width and trapezoidal shape keep it compact enough to fit between the shock towers of many vehicles.
Both new SPG555 GTuned enclosures deliver 2Ω final impedances that extract maximum power from Boston Acoustics GT amplifiers. Both boxes also provide 1000-watt RMS power-handling capability. The included mounting brackets make for easy installation and removal.
Heavy-duty, nickel-plated input terminals ensure reliable, full-signal connections, as does internal wiring of high-end 14-gauge cabling.
Both new Boston subwoofer enclosures are fully finished in OEM-grade gray automotive carpeting on all six surfaces, perfectly complementing the SPG555 sub.
The newest Boston Acoustics GTuned sub enclosures will be available March 2007, at the following suggested prices:
SPG555SS (sealed) $749.95
SPG555SP (ported) $849.95
