Code Systems Continues To Expand Remote Start Program with Mazda North American
Troy MI and Hauppauge NY – Code Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX) has announced the expansion of its remote start program with Mazda North America.
According to Michael Schroeder VP Code Systems OE Sales, the program covers remote start kits for the Mazda CX-9 and gives dealers the opportunity to either order the new vehicles from the port with product installed or stock inventory and sell the systems when they sell the new car. Schroeder recalls Code Systems’ remote start program was originally launched with Mazda in late 2004 as a dealer-installed accessory. “Now, with the availability of this option as a port-installed program, the new service will significantly enhance sales as dealers can order the vehicle with this product installed prior to delivery to their dealership,” he said.
The Code Systems Remote Start Kits have miniature one-button transmitters designed to operate from distances as far as 1,000 feet. The system features automatic shutdown after the vehicle has been running for ten minutes. Other features include a built-in Service/Valet Mode to prevent unexpected remote starting of the engine when the vehicle is being publicly parked and a “Quick-Stop” Mode which lets the driver briefly leave the car running while making a quick stop. For safety and security, the vehicle cannot be operated or moved without employing the actual ignition key.
Schroeder emphasized that the Code Systems Remote Start System interfaces 100% with the CX-9’s factory anti-theft system and perimeter security system and noted that all kits have plug and play wire harnesses, which reduce installation time, create consistent installations and maintain the integrity of the factory wiring harness.
This most recent award reflects the Code Systems-Mazda relationship which started in late 1999 on a dealer-installed Mazda Protégé vehicle security product and has evolved into the current remote engine start programs.
Schroeder said that Code Systems has emerged as a major remote start technology supplier to the OE segment of the business. “Since our launch of the first OE remote start in 2000, we have grown into supplying several automotive manufacturers whose names are household words. A strong team focused on innovation, integration, and speed-to-market has been the key to our success,” he concluded.
